Kathleen Ames, Publisher and Editor, was raised on a small family farm and of late became involved in the markets around the Phoenix area.  In conversing with the patrons, they relished new recipes and ideas that simply begged for a cookbook and newsletter.  Being a collector of recipes and information in general, her lifelong forté has now been channeled to help educate those wanting to expand their farmers market experience.     Valley of the Sun, The Farmers Market Cookbook was created on behalf of the many dedicated family owned farms, ranches, commercial fisherman and purveyers of artisan foods. The cookbook celebrates their culinary talent with never-before published recipes, plus ones they have collected along the way.

For 1-1/2 years, Kathleen published the Farmers Market E-Newsletter that reported market news, seasonal produce and recipes.  Beginning in the fall, 2011, those efforts will merge with the AZ Farmers Market News, published by Arizona Farmers' Markets Group. The paper will be a hardcopy with a much wider distribution at various, farmers' markets as well as select retailers and associations throughout the valley.
